Happy Canada Day! I tried to do some nail art for today and it just wasn't working out. Instead I have Girly Bits The Power of Love from the 80's Girl Band collection to show you. As Girly Bits is a Canadian company, I feel that it's appropriate that I share a Canadian brand today. I got this in my recent nail mail and couldn't wait to try it out. Power of Love is a textured glitter polish and I was able to resist the urge to topcoat it for review purposes. I did one nail with topcoat on my other hand to see how I would like it with topcoat and other than I normally prefer a smooth nail I think it actually looks better without topcoat. If you prefer with topcoat, then I recommend two generous coats of topcoat like Seche or HK Girl to get a complete smooth surface. Description in italics below is from the maker.
Girly Bits - The Power of Love |
The Power of Love is a lavender holo sprinkled with lavender, sea green
and silver holo glitter, plus purple shimmer and sparks of silver holo.
This is two coats of The Power of Love with no topcoat. Formula on this baby is perfection. Both coats went on smoothly and the glitter spread was spot on. I didn't have to do any dabbing or messing about and the glitter stayed put. I'm most certainly impressed as with every other glitter I've used I've had to do at least a little bit of manipulation to get good coverage but I had no such issues here. The glitters also lay flat and while it's textured it's not overly so that it would get caught on things.

The whole combination of the holo glitters is spectacular and this polish definitely has the power of love as I'm enamoured with it. The dry time on this was good too, with full dry time about 20 minutes after the second coat. I tried denting it with another nail and no dents. I used a base of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter A-Peel for easy removal.
I'm super happy I picked this one up and now I'm thinking I need to get Push It, the other holo glitter from this collection. Did you pick up any of the 80's Girl Band Collection or have any that you are eying? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
